Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Echo OpenMind (“Echo OpenMind”, “we”, “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Echo OpenMind app and web services, available on the App Store, Google Play, and at echoopenmind.com. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or have parental/guardian consent if under 13) and agree to these Terms. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, with changes effective upon posting on our website or within the App.
2. License to use
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App or use it for any unauthorized purpose.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping access to your account (your email inbox and any linked Google or Apple account) secure, and for all activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app or at echoopenmind.com/delete-account.
4. User conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App in a way that violates any applicable laws or regulations;
- Post abusive, harassing, hateful, or otherwise harmful content in group rooms or debate chats — rooms are anonymous, but they are shared spaces;
- Attempt to impersonate other users or circumvent the anonymous-handle system;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse our APIs or AI features;
- Attempt to access or tamper with our servers, systems, or other users' data.
We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules.
5. Credits & in-app purchases
Curated stories and the debate partner are free. Generating a personalized story costs credits, which you can earn (e.g. by watching rewarded ads) or buy as credit packs. The App also offers a Remove Ads purchase. If a story generation fails, the credit is automatically refunded to your balance.
All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by law or App Store / Google Play policies. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and expire if your account is deleted. You are responsible for any charges incurred; we recommend disabling in-app purchases on your device if you wish to avoid them.
6. AI-generated content
Stories, debate replies, and other learning content are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided for educational purposes only. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and does not represent our views or professional advice. You should not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or other professional decisions.
7. Intellectual property
All content in the App, including but not limited to graphics, text, and code, is owned by Echo OpenMind or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content without our express written permission. You retain ownership of the messages you write, and grant us the license needed to operate the Services (e.g. showing your room messages to other participants).
8. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information — including our microphone and speech-recognition disclosure. By using the App, you consent to the practices described there.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms or for any other reason, including maintenance or updates. Upon termination, your license to use the App will cease, and you must stop using the App.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Echo OpenMind shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. The App is provided “as is,” and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App will be resolved in the appropriate courts.
